Here is poem while I fix my daughter’s lunch for school tomorrow. I have knew found respect for single parents. I am experiencing what it is like to be truly a single parent, while I have my daughter for this Christmas period. Being divorced and coparenting is a lot different, and I usually only see 3 days a week. Don’t get me wrong, I am so grateful to be spending extra time with my daughter. It’s wonderful and exhausting. I am making her lunch for school tomorrow, I wish I could just go to bed. π
Poem: Fixing Lunch
love is falling asleep while laying next to you,
then waking up to fix your lunch.
love is following the rules of your preschool,
and packing you a no meat lunch
love is cooking rice noodles,
and stir frying vegetables with veggie hot dogs.
love simply is,
and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I admire your ability to write a pork about something so ordinary and make it sound so beautiful!

Scary isn’t it this parenting alone malarkey. Iv been a mum for 20 years but never alone till now. (Separated from their dad Sept 2016. Cremated my fiance Nov 2017.)
I feel like a bad mum every day for my lack of ability with them. (I have always worked full time.)
I admire your attitude to it all.

Thanks for sharing b. I got divorced in Dec 2016. I try to focus on the fact that I keep showing up and doing my best, and kids are quite forgiving. π But my daughter is 3, and your kids are probably older. It helps that she’s so cute, and maybe it helps that I am goofy and I try to laugh when I make mistakes.

I have 4 kids of my own.
Lill miss aged 3, lill man aged 6, baby bear aged 17 and my first born who will be a 21 yr old young lady soon.
I also have 4 step children too, aged 15, 17, 19 yr old boys and a 23 year old girl.
I admire that you have commitment to your lill girl. Kids are a forgiving bunch when they are tiny small but they do learn as they get older who has been consistent throughout their lives, who makes for good role models and who they can trust without question.
Consistent parenting and a daddy who can laugh at his mistakes will see your little princess a long way in life and she will be better for it.
I left my marriage in Sept 2016 (after years of knowing he was cheating.)
I admire your stability and your willingness to support your child through it all. You are a good man.
Not all kids are so lucky.
